Marbel Plaster used by Romans
Roman frescoes survived in the villas of Pompei, buried by the volcano Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Ashes from the eruption, covered entire towns and perfectly preserved magnificent examples of their interior decoration.
The surface gains a peculiar aspect because of the visual depth resulting by repeated application of transparent or semi transparent layers of a smooth material which reflects light. It can be finished with a coat of wax which will make it shiny as a marble cut but it can also be made completely mat, with more visible texture or even with a 'metallic' look with high ridges.
