GV PLASTERING & SCREEDING

We set our standards in interior plastering where our job is to straighten walls and corners and leave a finish where the tradesman following can have no complaints whatsoever.

Skimming: This consists of two coats of plaster at 3mm thick covering over walls, and ceilings, the end result a very smooth finish, this is also known as Setting.

Rendering: This is method can be used internal, and external mainly sand and cement, starting with a scratch coat this will help to even out the walls, and give a key for the next coat, this second coat we will use a straight edge to level off any surplus, and will leave the walls level, then last we rub down using a float so to leave a smooth finish.

Water Proofing / Tanking: We would mainly use this method in damp environments, such as basements, and external walls, the application would be very much the same as rendering, but with a added water resistant barrier, to stop the damp penetration.

Dry Linning: Also known as "dot + dab" we use this method when we need cover over walls, and ceilings with plaster boards using screws on timber or bonding adhesive on bear walls, then left to be either skimmed, or decorated.

Pebble - Dashing: This is always an external application, starting with a water - proofing scratch coat, leave for 24 hrs, and then apply a second coat, then as the second coat is still wet the stones or pebbles are dashed onto the coat.
